In early 2011, father found that his cancer count had risen to a very high level. He decided to try a new chemo drug after carefully considering the risks involved. Unfortunately, Father was unable to recover from this last treatment and his health deteriorated further. Mother was constantly at his side, lovingly and patiently caring for him, providing comfort and prayer. While at the hospital, she turned the chair into her bed. Father asked to see all his children and grandson before he died. Thankfully, we were all able to speak with him and spend time with him during his last few days in this world. Father also asked to return home from the palliative ward so he could "see the plants and flowers" outside our house. Thanks to the homecare provided by palliative care, his wish was granted. The day before he died, father said that he was going on a long journey "tomorrow". The following day, he passed away. It was May 19th, 2011 at 3:55pm. We were holding his hands as he took his last few breaths and peacefully left this world and returned to our Father in heaven.
