After his cancer diagnosis in 2005, father was told that his life expectancy was two years at most. Father underwent two major operations in Selayang Hospital to remove some tumors. Chemotherapy followed. Several times he became so ill that we didn't think he could pull through. His strong will power helped him recover each time. Father was a determined man and fought his cancer aggressively. He scoured the internet in search of natural cures to increase his chances of beating cancer. Initially, he found some benefit in Noni juice. However, success was short-lived, especially due to the fact that his cancer was advanced and had metastasized. However, he did not give up and continued to take herbs, supplements and medicinal plants to cure his disease. His efforts must have paid off. Coupled with Chemo, Father rebounded and regained some of his health. In fact, he lived almost 6 years after he was first diagnosed with cancer. Father never gave up no matter how slim his chances of recovery was. He would exhaust all possibilities before giving up. In fact, he continued to do locum at private clinics around Kota Kinabalu until he was unable to walk. Similarly, he continued to read until he was unable to see clearly.
