Dr.T.J.Alexander, his dear wife Susanah and his family are our very good friends, who we met in Kota Kinabalu after I assumed duties there in 1978 and became good friends. Since then we have moved to many places but still kept in regular contact with them, visited them often whenever we visted KK. It was while we were both working in Beaufort had I come to know the real Dr Alex so very well. Our families were in KK at that time and every other day we returned together in one car to KK after work. So we had plenty of time to meet, chat and eat together. It was very interesting for both of us to discuss very many subjects as our common intersts are almost same i.e. health, medicine, politics, philosophy, parenting, children's education and discipline, investments, life in general and much others. He enjoyed stimulating conversations and was always happy to meet me. He showed little tolerance to people who are dis-honest,he himself being an honest, sincere person. As a Doctor, he was very compassionate, putting service to the sick and the poor, above any consideration for money.He does this without a second person knowing about his good deeds. I have seen him going to great lengths to give his best to his patients, rich or poor. He was a very simple and humble person, never even mentioning his many achiefments in his life. Success of all his children bear witness to the dedication with which he quided his children to success in their own life. As friends we had a 33-year unbroken,rewarding friendship and shared very many happy moments together. We will sorely miss him but remember him for the many happy moments and laughter we shared in our lives on this earth. May he rest in peace.
